An automatic hammer blocking safety system prevents the firearm from discharging unless the hammer is cocked and the trigger is pulled fully to the rear. The synthetic buttstock and fore-end are impervious to the elements. This CVA Hunter Compact Single Shot Rifle includes a CVA soft gun case, and a factory-mounted and bore sighted 3x9x32mm Konus® rifle scope, attached with a DuraSight® 1-piece scope mount.
