Stevens-Lord No 36 Single Shot Pistol. The 10” part-round/part octagon barrel has approximately 95% blue. The .22 S & LR bore is fine. The nickel plate frame, grip straps, trigger guard, and butt have approximately 90% nickel. The very finely checkered grips have some wear but are in overall very good condition. The barrel marking is very lightly stamped with J. Stevens A&T Co./Chicopee Falls Mass, Pat. Sept. 6, 1864. This gun is circa 1890. The pistol is named for Frank Lord, a prominent shooter of the period. The action functions correctly. This is a nice example of an early .22 caliber target pistol.
