Everything you need to know about Gun Control:
Every so often, Americans start talking about restricting the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It is commonly discussed after a particularly disturbing event, the most recent being the Parkland Florida shooting.
It can be confusing trying to figure out exactly how this happened. However, one thing is not confusing at all, as it is undeniably supported by statistics.
The American gun owner is better than Law Enforcement at keeping guns out of the hands of those who should not have them.
The ATF tried to buy firearms from private sellers without a background check. The result was astounding:
"All of Our Attempts to Illegally Purchase Firearms from Private Sellers on the Surface Web Were Unsuccessful."
Multiple Law Enforcement Organizations received notifications about Cruz's threatening language and behavior, no less than 21 times in fact. More alarmingly, the FBI was informed 5 weeks prior to the shooting that Cruz wanted to kill people and was likely to shoot up the school.
Compare that to the American private sellers that refused to break the law 100% of the time, when the ATF tried to make improper purchases on the surface web.
Law Enforcement has a difficult job with tens of thousands of potential psychopaths to police. The great thing about private firearms sales in America is that the American gun owner is excellent at making sure his or her firearm does not make it into the hands of the wrong person. There are far more private firearms owners than Police Officers in this country. That means that the gun owner has a lot more time to make sure they are vetting the other party prior to selling that individual a firearm.
Law Enforcement already is already overworked. And to make things worse, some police departments, like The Broward County Sheriff's office, are incompetent. Making guns "harder to get" by passing more laws will only make this problem worse.

I was wondering if I was tag with one of these attempts. I had some guy wanting to purchase a handgun off of me last year and asked if it was OK that he didn't have a photo ID. I declined to move fwd with the sale because in PA you need to transfer a handgun via FFL which requires photo ID. In all honestly though, if I was a felon and i wanted to buy a rifle or AR from someone, i'm not going to tell them that I was a felon. I always ask if they have a LTCF when selling any firearm just to be safe.

It seems significant for future reference. We know that anti-gun people repeatedly lie and attempt to try the same legislation for the same things on the pretense that it will solve the problems it failed to solve in the past. So, now we can watch as the anti-gun politicians make their blatant claims that people can buy machine guns on the internet and the LE is sufficient to protect us and keep us safe...just something else to laugh about

This isn't a surprise. In past studies and stings it was found there are more straw purchase sales through dealers than illegal sales through internet listings. Myself, I feel a responsibility to the law, to myself, and most importantly, to those who would be harmed were I to break the law.
