Pre-owned in fair condition. Pistol does not come with a magazine. Condition is rough. We were able to remove some of the red paint with Rem oil and a nylon brush but we didn't want to get carried away as we are not restoration specialists. There is bluing loss, scratches, and minor dings. The knurling on the heel magazine release is pretty marred, as are the grips. The pistol has been field stripped and does not appear to be missing any integral parts. Function tested working. This is a single action semi auto loading pistol with a locking breach rotating barrel. In Czechoslovakia the caliber is referred to as "9mm Nickl". It's not too dissimilar from 9mm Kurz or .380 ACP. We recommend you consult an expert on which cartridge is safe to use in this firearm.

This is a very rare pistol. The model 22, sometimes refered to as the vz.22 or model 1922 was licensed by Mauser and manufactured by Czechoslovak Zbrojovka as a military side arm in Czechoslovakia. The model 22, regarded as the prototype for the more common model 24 produced by Ceska Zbrojovka, was wraught with reliability issues and went through at least 3 iterations (we believe this to be the 2nd iteration with a pinned ejector and internal extractor) before they developed the model 24. The CZ model 24 would later be adopted by Czech Army.
