The Remington Model 700 is one of the most famous, and most popular bolt action rifles ever made, so much so that it is still in production 55 years after its introduction! The Model 700 rifle has been used all over the world by hunters, military snipers, police, and match target shooters. Present is the 700 Classic model. According to the barrel date code, the rifle left the Remington factory in 1986. The stock is a beautiful Monte Carlo with black tip, sling swivel studs, and elegant checkering. It is equipped with a solid rubber butt pad. There is some unusual wear in the wood around the forward sling swivel stud. Other than this, wear on the stock is minor with maybe a few dings in the cheek piece. The pistol grip cap is somewhat discolored on the bottom with light spots. The bluing is in 98 percent condition with some loss on the floor plate’s left edge and on the bolt knob. The bore is in excellent condition with little to no powder residue. The action itself is very smooth. Combined with the classic .30-06 and a good scope this would make a very effective hunting rifle. For more pictures please the Guns International listing # 101298123.
