The 6mm Creedmoor cartridge, originally developed for precision rifle matches, was developed from the renowned 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge that has been winning matches for over a decade. The 6mm Creedmoor is designed to provide long-range efficiency in the lightest recoiling cartridge achievable. The result is a fast, flat and recoil friendly cartridge that scores impacts at extended ranges with ease.

The Howa 1500 barreled action takes advantage of the accuracy and potential of this new chambering by way of a cold hammer forged barrel with a 1-7.5” rate of twist. The fast rate of twist is a perfect match to stabilize modern high B.C. bullets. The Howa 1500-barreled actions will be available initially in a 24” and 26” #6 heavy barreled contour with 5/8”x24 threaded muzzle. They are equipped with a 2-stage, creep-free H.A.C.T. trigger and a 3 position safety.

The 6mm Creedmoor will be available to purchase as a Barreled Action directly through Brownell’s or in one of Howa’s popular rifles such as the Bravo, HS Precision, Australian Precision Chassis Rifle, HCR & Hogue Rifle.
