While the best examples of the original python are usually found securely locked in safes, this new model is designed to be shot. Enhancements such as a more robust stainless steel frame with thirty percent more steel beneath the adjustable rear target sight and smooth, non-stacking trigger pull make this gun in many ways better than the original. The 3" one piece, under lug, ventilated rib barrel with recessed crown delivers exceptional accuracy and is topped with a user-interchangeable front sight with bright orange insert. Combined with adjustable rear target sights, the Python makes target acquisition as quick as it is accurate. The moment you grasp the Python's Walnut grip with the iconic Colt medallion you will feel the balance and ergonomics of this iconic gun. With classic good looks that stay true to the original firearm, you may be tempted to keep this gun in the safe, but don't. This revolver was made to be shot. The Python is chambered in .357 Magnum and also accommodates 38 Special cartridges.
