One of the production rarest variants of M1 Carbine manufactures during World War II era. This carbine serial number block dates about 9/43 to about 5/44, actual date would be hard to tell. Not all serial number during the government serial number block were used. Standard Products is a little heard about manufacture for the war and produced just over 247,000 rifles or 4% of the overall productions of US GI M1 carbines. They were also contracted by the US government after the war to also rebuild carbines for long term storage. Standard products in the 1930s developed improved gas caps. Contracted during the war for carbine rifles and later on they continued with other automotive parts. The company was still growing into the late 1990s.

Rare piece of history, that you can actually hold in your hand and preserve for the next generations to collect and marivel.

This rifle is in good condition, and is not one of those imports recently coming in that looks like it came out of the bottom of the ocean somewhere. However, it does show its wear, age, history, import mark and poor judgement of prior owners. The factory parkerizing has aged nicely on the action, however the exposed parts of the front barrel area by the sight were overcoated some years ago with a silver spray on type finish. Likewise the buttplate has the same overcoat silver paint. Some surface rust like decolorization, however would make a great rifle to re parkerizing website link below.
