Bruce D Horne - Custom Powder Horn – Large – White to Tan – Scrimshawed Map Horn - STK# P-36-44

This one of a kind large 15” white to tan custom scrimshawed map horn was made by Bruce D Horne in 1985. On the right side of the body is an unused name banner with the script “HIS HORN MADE OCT. 85 by B.H.”  just below.  It is beautifully hand made with scrimshaw work throughout the horn and nicely scalloped detail around base of the horn. The map scene with a Rose Compass depicts the tributaries along the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers in Eastern New York. The hand carved Walnut acorn style base plug fits nicely into the horn. The pouring spout has a Walnut plug.  It has a 46” long x 1/4” wide brown leather carrying strap. This horn is in very good condition. Maker: Bruce D. Horne
