As you already mostlikely know, surplus M44 rifles are getting expensive and hard to find. Then take in to account this is not a Soviet Russian made rifle, but a rare variant from Hungarian Fémáru Fegyver és Gépgyár FEG manufactured, only about 180,000 made only during two years of production 1952 and 1953. By comparison Soviet Russian made rifle of the M44 were said to be manufactured between 1943 through 1948 with a total of rifles manufactured of over seven million 7,603,831. Markings are correct with Hungary's Warsaw Pact factory 02, both marked on the stock and barrel. Also proofed with the Communist Hungarian symbol. This rifle is in very nice condition overall, the bolt is mismatched and there is no cleaning rod, the bluing is very nice. There is some white splash like specks paint on the buttstock. Other than that, would be a rare addition to your mosin collection. If you haven't already started collecting all the different pattern manufactures yet, this one is one of the hardest to obtain and will give you an exceptional start.

They are also great deer / Javelina rifles with there shorter barrels for fast brush shots and powerful round.
