I got this a few years back from the son of the man that brought this back. He said his father flew a B-24 in the Solomon islands campian.  The son had no one to leave the guns to, so he came in my shop to find a good home for them. He siad his father made the grips when he was serving over there out of local wood. This Ithaca serail number puts it in the the first 60k run in 1943. This m1911A1 is in very good shape. These are hard to find in this shape . This pistol has not been rearsenaled like most you see today. It has the correct high standard barrel with a brite bore.  It come with  the original  belt and Sears holdter with his fathers mane marked on it.
