For sale is a Colt Detective Special 2nd Issue .32 S&W Long Double/Single Action Revolver in good used condition. This revolver was manufactured in 1975.


The second issue Detective Special's feature a longer ejector rod, and a smooth cylinder latch. They also have a serrated trigger spur making it much easier to work the hammer, and also making it harder to have a misfire when working the hammer. The front sight posts have a serrated ramp providing a reduction in glare and helping with aligning the sights quickly. The grips were made of plastic in 1947, but they were switched back to wood in 1955. The frame was also shortened in the 1960's.


The frame shows wear on the edges. There is a small deep scratch on the left side of the frame above the Colt logo. Under the trigger guard, there is a small dent and a small area of finish wear. On the right side of the frame there are a few slightly deep scratches behind the cylinder. There are some scratches behind the trigger guard on the right side of the frame. There is a small spot to the right of the yolk screw on the right side of the frame where there is pitting. The frame shows some light rust in multiple areas. The breech face has some minor wear but still retains a good amount of its finish. There is a small spot of pitting on the frame under the cylinder. The cylinder has multiple areas of light rust and finish wear. The ratchet pad is in great shape and shows no major wear. The grips have small dents in the bottom but are in overall great shape. The barrel has some finish wear on the edges as well as the crown. The crown has a small dent on the outer rim, but no damage to the inside edge. The bore is in excellent shape and the rifling shows no major wear. This revolver has been cleaned and checked thoroughly and functions great.
