This pistol is an FN 509 MRD Full Size with a NY (New York) SKU number.  Apparently the NYPD adopted/accepted the FN 509 MRD as a new department weapon, and contracts were signed between the NYPD and FN.  

WELL...... from what I understand, the mucky mucks in the upper echelon of NYC politics didn't get their palms greased by FN for this contact, and the contract was cancelled before the guns could be delivered to NYPD, and FN was stuck with these guns.  

This gun is the exact same specs as SKU #66-101287, but with a NY SKU number, and comes with five 17 round magazines.
