The Nighthawk Custom GRP Recon takes the proven performance and rugged durability of the standard GRP 1911 pistol and adds the versatility of an integrated rail. This enhancement allows users the option to mount a red dot sight, tactical light, or other accessories to the pistol, making it an adaptable choice for various shooting scenarios, including self-defense, tactical operations, and range use.

Like all Nighthawk Custom pistols, the GRP Recon adheres to the "One Gun, One Gunsmith" philosophy. This process involves a single gunsmith building and prepping the gun from start to finish, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and exceptional precision in every aspect of the firearm.

The GRP Recon features coarse cocking serrations on both the front and rear of the slide, providing shooters with a secure grip and enhanced control during slide manipulation. This is particularly useful in demanding or high-pressure situations.

Interchangeable Optic System (IOS)

Everything you could possibly want in an optic solution. The IOS is adaptable to your needs and allows for a low-profile red dot mount with the versatility to switch rear sights in a matter of seconds. With the dovetail cut in the slide, each plate can be removed and still return to zero. This allows you to switch your rear sight quickly and easily without sacrificing aesthetic or function. The cocking serrations have been cut into the plate and hand blended so perfectly, that most people would never notice the cut. This is available on new builds as an upgrade, and is also available to be cut on most existing 1911s, no matter the brand. Price for IOS install on an existing pistol starts at $450.
