You are bidding on a Colt US Government GI surplus 1911, that's former owner obtained it through the CMP government program for US surplus. These CMP pistols are sought after and now the only known source of actual straight out of the US military arsenals to the public. The catch is, the government inventories had many different manufactures over the decades and a 1911 is just that, the brand does matter on a government level. So many of the pistol released to the public are as quoted from the CMP themselves a “mix master” of parts. I would say it pretty common to receive a one manufacture frame and another manufactures slide. I had a guy contact us, that had his came with a replacement unmarked slide. So the story goes, when you buy from the government, there is no guarantee what you will get, other than a military standard GI 1911.

This pistol has a Colt frame that dates world war II to 1944 and the slide 1943, other parts are mixed and various dates. To further support the pistols history a US GI issue, a freedom of information act was applied and pictured for the auction. Also included is a CMP certificate of purchase and hard case. Over all this vintage Colt looks good for its age, there is rack number on the grip and stain on the slide finish that is noticeable pictured.

Wait time we think run about a year or so to buy on directly from the CMP, under their selection period, after you sign up during their window for purchase.

What you end up with after the time that passes, is pretty much luck of the draw.

What you see in the pictures can be your as the high bid.
