This is only 1 of 380 folding knives that Peter made.  After we acquired this knife, the owner of our business discovered that he grew up and lived only a few miles away from Mr. Marzitelli in Canada.  They sparked up a conversation about his knife making and we discovered that Peter had a limited number of folding knives because of how difficult it was for him to make them in the quality that he approved.  After making his last folding knife he only produced fixed bladed knives from that point on.

About the Maker

Peter Marzitelli was a full time Canadian knife maker who began making knives in 1982. He is self taught, and has learned all of the various operations of knifemaking, including: design, heat treat, and leatherwork, through his own experiences and studies. Only the finest steel is used in every "MARZ" knife, such as: ATS-34, 440C, D2, and Stainless Damascus. During heat treat, each blade is double tempered to ensure a good tough, non brittle blade that will flex. Handle materials range from exotic hardwoods, mammoth and mastodon ivory, deer and moose antler, to synthetics like micarta and carbon fiber. He became one of the top knife makers in the world. Peter had authenticity, integrity, boundless creativity and a sparkle in his eye that attracted us all.

In 2019, loving husband Peter Marzitelli passed away at age 65.
Peter was born September 11, 1953 in Montreal, Quebec. He moved out to B.C. with his future wife Hilary in 1976. Where he discovered knife making.
